Little Snitch functions similarly to a firewall, but rather than blocking incoming connections, it controls outgoing connections and data. With Little Snitch, users can choose which programs are allowed to transmit data over the Internet and which are not. Whenever an application attempts to send information online, Little Snitch prompts for approval before allowing the transmission. Users can set rules for each decision made, modifying, creating, or deleting them within the program's interface. Furthermore, Little Snitch features a widget that provides real-time updates on the data traffic of all applications with Internet access. However, the tool may continue to prompt confirmation messages for certain programs that regularly use the Internet, requiring users to authorize their connection from all ports for seamless operation alongside these applications.
